| The School Chaplain is the Revd Dr Gareth Leyshon, a deacon due to be ordained priest in 2007. Working together with the RE staff, and supported by the Music , Welsh and English departments and pastoral staff of the school, the Chaplain’s role is to help pupils and staff grow in their relationships with God and with one another. The Chaplaincy’s work is an integral part of ensuring the school lives out its Mission Statement. Every school week begins with a time of prayer and reflection for staff. Members of staff take turns to lead prayer at 8.30 in the Chapel on a Monday morning. There is also a longer time of prayer at the start of each INSET day. Each Year Group has one Assembly each week. On other days, prayer forms part of each class’s morning registration period. In 2007, it is hoped to begin a programme so that every pupil in Key Stages 3 and 4 can take part in a small group of experience of guided prayer, run by the Chaplain and the school’s Faith Development Team.
